Christmas will be here before everyone knows it and while people are already busy buying gifts and preparing their greeting cards and doing all kinds of last-minute preparations for the celebration of our Lord Jesus Christ's birth, it would not hurt to sit back with the family to watch a few movies that would bring the kids more Christmas feels in anticipation for the big day.

Here are five family-friendly Christmas movies that kids will surely love:

"Home Alone"

Ask any person who was born before the nineties if they knew what "Home Alone" was and chances are, they would probably answer with a resounding "YES!" After all, who didn't love Kevin McAllister who, despite being naughty enough to make it off Santa's list, was still able to win the hearts of everyone because of his charming ways and quick thinking. His brave attitude tells other kids that just size doesn't matter, as seen when he successfully defended his house from two notorious burglars. This is a family movie that the younger viewers can show to their own children when they grow up and their kids would still love it.

Disney's "A Christmas Carol"

Directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Jim Carrey, "A Christmas Carol" is Disney's take on the classic story from the Charles Dickens novel of the same name. It follows old miser Ebenezer Scrooge (Carrey), who is visited by the three ghosts of Christmas past, present and future to give him a second chance to turn his life around or suffer a sad, miserable fate. This is a fun adventure to watch and it also teaches kids how to be generous and compassionate to others.

"Home Alone 2: Lost in New York"

The sequel to the previous "Home Alone" film, Kevin is once again forced to look out for himself when he gets separated from his family as they leave for Florida. Kids who loved the first "Home Alone" would definitely find this twice as hilarious. It is also good as a standalone movie, so the family does not necessarily have to watch the first movie to enjoy this one.

"Jingle All the Way"

Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger in one of his less serious roles, this movie is more about showing what lengths parents are willing to go through just to make their children happy for the holidays. Still, the entire family will enjoy seeing Arnold bump and scratch and claw his way in and out of trouble in search of the elusive Turbo Man. Kids who love superhero movies would want to watch this until the end.

"The Grinch"

Based on the 1957 story by Dr. Seuss, the movie is a must watch for families who want to teach their kids that Christmas is more than just gift giving and having fun. The Grinch's multiple failed attempts to sabotage Christmas culminates to a change of heart, and the realization that Christmas is not just about merrymaking but also spending time with one's family.
