Fans cannot wait to see the horrors that abound in the indie point-and-click survival horror video game "Five Nights at Freddy's 3." According to rumors, the installment will be very different from its predecessors, which required players to keep a night guard for five successive days as animatronics prowl in the night to murder them.

A new unique teaser released via Scottgames shows a maze where a player labeled "you" located inside a room is tasked to find the exit marked by the triangle in the map. This has led media outlets to surmise that "Five Nights at Freddy's 3" may stray from the gameplay it had previously used. Could it be that the title would have players move around and escape the terrible place rather than fending off killer animatronics? App Trigger pointed out that the room with the triangle might be the place where Freddy lies in wait or the place the killer adventure begins.

While fans await the third iteration of the horror-laden franchise, developer Scott Cawthon found it best to troll them for the fun of it. News broke that Cawthon was hacked and the hacker successfully released whatever he managed to work on, thus forcing the developer to cancel the project. In his update in Steam, Cawthon revealed his amusingly evil plan.

"In case you all haven't figured it out yet, I have NOT been hacked so stop worrying! All I've been hearing about all day is how I've been hacked! Everything is fine and FNaF 3 is still moving full speed ahead. Now everyone take a chill pill and enjoy the nice game I made for you!" Cawthon tells gamers

Cawthon also announced that the early beta testing was a success. In another recent post in Steam, the developer relayed this news and in a cryptic manner, too. In his post, he intentionally misspelled select words and duplicated letters, writing most as "mmost," you as "yyou" and so on. Following the pattern, players can make out the words "My name is Springtrap." The post itself, on the other hand, suggests that the beta had a feature Cawthon did not warn players about. His plan to have beta testers discover it themselves came out "effective" as it stopped them from getting past Night 2.

There is no word on the release date of "Five Nights at Freddy's 3" and Cawthon said that it is still in "very bare bones."
