"Five Nights at Freddy's 4" brings Scott Cawthon's insane scare fest to a close. This is what the creator of the popular horror survival series put across in an image plastered on his website's front page

"The End. Thanks for playing!" the text on the photo reads.

However, Attack of the Fanboy surmised that even this photo is asking to be scrutinized in the same way as the teaser images for "Five Nights at Freddy's 4." The site played around with the image and increased its brightness, and in expected Scott Cawthon fashion, a question mark popped up. The words then became "The End?"

This could be an indication that Cawthon has more scary things up his sleeve.

However, this doesn't necessarily mean there will be a new game or a follow-up to "Five Nights at Freddy's 4." According to the abovementioned site, Cawthon's new puzzle might be pertaining to the upcoming DLC, slated to be released on Oct. 31 just in time for players to get their point-and-click type of Halloween fix. The publication also mentioned the possibility that another entry, or perhaps a spin-off, in the "Five Nights at Freddy's" series is in the works..

At this point, Cawthon's new teaser could mean anything and if it really is something, the creator is likely to talk more about it after fans enjoy his latest game.

Technically, it really isn't the end for the franchise, with a movie based on "Five Nights at Freddy's" currently in the works. Warner Bros. secured the rights to make the film three months back and Cawthon is helping out on the creative side. There's no information regarding its release date or the plot but it is expected to chronicle how the animatronics in Freddy's Fazbear Pizza turned from child-friendly performers to killer robots.
