A "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie was announced last year, but news surrounding it has been so scarce that fans are having doubts if it will push through. However, fans are expecting that something worthwhile will be announced soon.

"Five Nights at Freddy's" fans were all hyped up with the release of its "Sister Location" installment, which is the fifth game in the series. However, a few days before the game was released, a fan has directly asked the series creator, Scott Cawthon, about an update on its movie adaptation.

Carzon64 asked via the "Sisters Location's" Steam page: "Hey Scott I was wondering what was happening with the FNAF movie. I know that this was announced in April 2015 but we haven't got much news about it. I was really excited to hear the news about it when it came out. Is it still happening Scott?"

A few hours later, to the delight of the fans, Scott replied. He said, "I'll make a news post about this soon. I know a lot of people are curious about what's happening with it!"

Then again, nobody really knows when Cawthon will have an update. He did not give any specific dates for the announcement for the movie update. This has put the fans in the dark. Even Gil Kenan, the movie director, and Tyler Burton Smith, movie writer, have not given any updates with regards to the film.

It is speculated, though, that since "Five Nights at Freddy's Sister Location" is now out, Cawthon can now concentrate on the movie. Fans are aware that game development really consumes a lot of time, unless, Cawthon plans to have DLC for the game, which remains unknown.

"Five Nights at Freddy's" movie was first announced back in 2015, which will be produced by Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment as well as Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith Productions. It will take place on Freddy Fazzbear's Pizza, and will be purely animatronics, as mentioned by The Hollywood Reporter.

In the meantime, fans can get their hands on "Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location," which is now available for the Windows PC. Android and iOS versions are expected to arrive by Oct. 26.
