A rugged edition of the Samsung Galaxy S7 is rumored to be arriving soon and will be offered by AT&T, the same with the previous Galaxy Active smartphones. The South Korean tech giant was the one who put it up on their Level app, so it can be considered official.

Samsung's Level app is a list of the company's smartphone units and acts as a guide for owners on what accessories will work for a specific unit. Accessories include headphones, earbuds, speaker systems and more. This is just a basic list of models, no other information can be deduced from it.

One of the Galaxy Active series' feature is water- and dust-resistance. The Galaxy S6 was not originally IP68 certified. However, The Galaxy S7 is already certified to be water and dust protected. Sammobile reported that a MIL-STD-810G, military grade protection, maybe incorporated into the upcoming phone. This added protection is for bumps and drops.

GalaxyS7Active mentioned that the rumored phone may contain a bigger screen and better camera specs. It is believed that with the small screen bump, the display screen will now be able to offer up to 3480 x 2160 pixel resolution, while the camera will be going up to 19MP for the main camera and 7MP for the front-facing one. An adaptive display is expected to be better on the rumored model.

Additionally, it is also speculated that the rumored phone will be able to offer deeper and longer water resistance. The standard Galaxy S7 can withstand water up to three meters deep and up to 30 minutes underwater and offers 3,000 mAh battery capacity.

The Galaxy S7 Active is known internally as Poseidon, as stated by famous leakster Evan Blass.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active may be released by AT&T in May of this year.
