Mereen has not been kind to Daenerys. The princess may have won the city and liberated the people but the change in economy, her dragons, and now war against the Sons of the Harpy are forcing her hand to do what she does not want to.

To make matters worse, episode 4 titled "Sons of the Harpy" saw the defeat of both Grey Worm and Ser Barristan Selmy, two of her most trusted allies. The two were ambushed by the Sons of the Harpy, and Ser Barristan was stabbed through the back and chest.

Ser Barristan lives in the book series but the show is known for drastically altering things from its source material. It is likely that his character is dead for the remainder of the show. However, fans who saw the IMAX trailer for season 5 may still hope for Grey Worm recovering as he was shown sharing an intimate moment with Missandei.

It is possible that Daenerys' difficult decision involves Tyrion Lannister. Jorah is bringing Tyrion as an advisor as a means of penance and, as the promotional photos show, it is likely that Daenerys will take him in despite him being a Lannister.

Meanwhile, Jon Snow has to rely on an unexpected ally as he attempts to head south to deal with the Boltons. Brienne, on the other hand, continues her search for Sansa, and Theon Greyjoy is hinted to play an important role in the upcoming episode. He is still controlled by Ramsay Bolton but with Sansa lingering around, it is only a matter of time until he snaps back into reality and he may help Sansa regain the North, including Winterfell.

"Game of Thrones" season 5 episode 5, "Kill the Boy," airs on May 10.
