"Game of Thrones" season 5 ended with one of the most controversial cliffhangers on television, and fans have been contemplating whether or not Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is truly dead. According to an interview with actress Emilia Clarke, he may yet live.

Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen on the show, was aked during an interview with Vanity Fair if Jon Snow is truly gone forever.

"They know I can't lie very well," the actress stated.

She explained that at this point, she knows absolutely nothing about Jon Snow's return although she did say he has a 50-50 percent chance of coming back.

The actress also noted that Melissandre's return to the Wall just moments prior to Jon Snow's death seems all too convenient. The red priestess had already learned that Thoros, another priest of R'hllor, was able to revive a dead person and she may be able to do so as well.

According to a separate report from Vanity Fair, there are also several clues indicating that Jon Snow will come back, if not in season 6 then perhaps in season 7.

One clue is the absence of Harington at this year's Comic-Con. The report cites that actors often attend the show's panel after their characters have been killed off in the show. Showrunners David Benoiff and D. B. Weiss also won't be present, perhaps to avoid spilling any spoilers.

The report also cites the casting call for a "legendary swordsman," which many speculate refers to Ser Arthur Dayne, as a likely clue that Jon is alive. If Arthur Dayne would be featured in a flashback sequence, then it is likely that this sequence will be Ned Stark's assault on the Tower of Joy to rescue his sister Lyanna. It is speculated that the reason Arthur Dayne and other members of the Kingsguard are there is to protect a member of the royal family, which many speculate to be Jon Snow. Rumors persist that Jon Snow is actually Lyanna and Rhaegar's son, hinting that Jon still has a role to play.
