"Game of Thrones" showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have negated the report about a change in approach in "Game of Thrones" season 6 due to outrage concerning Sansa Stark's plotline in season 5.

Director Jeremy Podeswa, who helmed four episodes in the previous season, was quoted as saying that the folks behind the series "did not want to be too overly influenced by that [criticism], but they did absorb and take it in and it did influence them in a way."

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Weiss made clear that "Game of Thrones" season 6 was not affected by the issue at all. Emphasizing that Podeswa's statement might have been edited, fabricated or distorted, Weiss said that the remark going around is "just not a factual statement."

Weiss reasons that Sansa Stark's controversial storyline just happens to "[confound] the normal creative process." Benioff also clarified that the female characters' stepping up to the plate in "Game of Thrones" season 6 is not a response to the criticism but only a part of the storytelling process.

"I can literally say that not one word of the scripts this season have been changed in any way, shape or form by what people said on the Internet, or elsewhere," Weiss maintained.

Meanwhile, everyone is on the edge of their seats in regards to Jon Snow's fate in "Game of Thrones" season 6. Actor Kit Harington stands firm in his claim that he only filmed scenes in the new season as a corpse and nothing more.

"I won't tell you how many episodes I'm lying dead... but it's going to be so satisfying when you see it and you realize that I was telling the truth the whole time," Harington told Jonathan Ross in "The Jonathan Ross Show," according to IBTimes.

Fans will learn if the actor is telling the truth when "Game of Thrones" season 6 premieres on HBO on April 24.
