'Game of Thrones' Season 8 will see two major female characters fall prey to the Night King

The fans will need to wait another year to witness the eighth and final season of the HBO hit series "Game of Thrones." Within this long period of anticipation, a bunch of fan theories has already surfaced online, and most of the plot speculations does not bode well for the show's female leads. Following the previous season finale, the Night King has proven himself to be a force to reckon with as he leads the white walker army and a zombified dragon towards Westeros. In season 8, the Night King is rumored to put the lives of Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) in danger as he takes the battle straight to King's Landing.

The latest "Game of Thrones" season 8 plot rumors are related to the Night King's imminent conquest of Westeros. Interestingly, a fan at Reddit suggests that the battle might not necessarily begin in the North, after the Night King blasted the Wall with the help of Viserion. It is speculated that the Night King might actually fly all the way to King's Landing to shake up the main foundation of the Seven Kingdoms, while a band of white walkers in the North will serve as a decoy.

As the Night King sets foot in King's Landing, he will get to meet Cersei, who has concocted her own formula in defeating her enemies. One would expect that the Night King would raise hell in King's Landing immediately, but there is a possibility that he will take things a bit more political this time, and that is by entering a deal with Cersei. The latter, who is smart enough to know that her chances of survival are slim if she decides to fight the enemy head on, will give in to the Night King's wishes. For one, the Night King could demand a huge army of humans to turn into wights, something that Cersei could easily grant him as the reigning queen of the Seven Kingdoms.

On the other hand, another major female character is likely to fall into the Night King's clutches in "Game of Thrones" season 8. As Cersei is bound to the Night King in King's Landing, Daenerys Targaryen could end up dead as the white walker army obliterates Winterfell. Daenerys was accompanied by Jon Snow (Kit Harington) on a trip to the North, and it is likely that the white walkers will eventually catch up on them and threaten the Mother of Dragons.

Daenery's anticipated death in "Game of Thrones" season 8 will have a big impact, although it can be said that it will not go unexpected. The white walkers function as the executioner of humans, punishing them for their evil deeds. While Daenerys has proven herself to be a benevolent queen, achieving power also made her do a number of atrocities, killing many people to secure her throne. This time, the white walkers might be the ones to serve justice upon Daenerys.

"Game of Thrones" season 8 is expected to premiere in 2019.
