In the return of the HBO fantasy hit series, "Game of Thrones" season 8, it looks like fans are going to miss one major character. There is a possibility that Meera Reed (Ellie Kendrick) will not be seen in the season finale of the television adaptation of George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. After her bitter goodbye with Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) in the previous season, fans are looking forward to see the two together again.

In an interview with Metro, the 27-year-old star revealed that her future in "Game of Thrones" season 8 remains uncertain. "I wait for the phone to ring and then I find out, but it hasn't rung so I don't know," she said.

Kendrick narrated that she always get questions about what is going to happen next to her character or will she be in the new installment, but she also doesn't know if she is going to reprise her role. "I'll find out whether I am or not at some point," she added. However, as she has not been notified yet by the higher-ups, there is no confirmation about her return yet.

Meera is loved by a lot of fans because she helped Bran escape the Wights and return to Winterfell. In fact, viewers are now looking forward to her reunion with the new Three-Eyed Raven in "Game of Thrones" season 8. However, as her potential return is still unknown, Kendrick admitted that it affects her on the personal level.

"The Diary of Anne Frank" actress confessed that she already built a great bond with Wright as they worked together for a number of seasons. She said that it would be a "sad day" for her to say goodbye to the boy whom she calls "young Isaac."

"Game of Thrones" season 8 is expected to return in 2019 on HBO.
