Gamescom 2014 schedule: What to expect from Microsoft, Sony and EA?

Gamescom 2014 kicked off in Cologne, Germany, with the event set to unleash a lot of new announcements for the avid gaming fans all over the world.

While it is already expected that a lot of publishers featured in the expo will discuss the games that will be released in the future, publishers will also be teasing the public about new games that are said to be revealed through a string of conferences from Monday to Thursday.

Here's what to expect from the favorite publishers at Gamescom this year:

Microsoft

Schedule: Tuesday, August 12 (1pm-2pm UK time)

Microsoft chooses to keep the public in the dark unlike the other publishers for this year's Gamescom. They have announced that they will elaborate more on Quantum Break after not appearing at E3 this year, while joint partnership with Xbox on the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare multiplayer reveal will be released a day prior to the scheduled conference.

News about bundles and services might be announced outside of the games. News about the confirmation of white Xbox One bundles for US in Europe is expected during the conference, and more details on future system updates are also expected to be tackled at the same time.

Sony

Schedule: Tuesday, August 12 (6pm-8pm UK time)

Traditionally, PlayStation always provide a few surprises for its European gamers, and this year will not be any different.

The gaming console brand is constantly teasing its players with cryptic trailers that feature snowflakes and blood, igniting speculations that it will launch a re-reveal of Until Dawn. Some games believe that it will come with additional support for Project Morpheus.

On the other hand, a listing that was leaked hinted that Journey and Unfinished Swan could be featured at the expo, and are both coming to PS4.

Lastly, Bloodborne is said to be featured strongly at the show, after being hailed as playable a month earlier.

Electronic Arts (EA)

Schedule: Wednesday, August 13 (9am-11am UK time)

For this year, the press conference schedule of Electronic Arts will be moved from its usual Tuesday morning slot to a Wednesday morning slot.

It is said that the two-hour briefing will feature the first full reveal of the new game of BioWare, which is probably a new property. Because of that, gamers should not expect any word about Mass Effect 4.

Since football is really popular in Europe, gamers should expect to get more details about FIFA 15, as well as other popular games like The Sims 4, Battlefield Hardline, Dawngate, as well as Dragon Age: Inquisition.

For those who do not belong to the fortunate few who can attend Gamescon 2014 in Cologne, live stream videos from the publishers are available online during the respective schedules.
