Folks who are on the prowl for a better performing notebook in 2016 may be looking for the added spunk in the graphics chips that upcoming notebooks will be carrying.

Apparently, the debate right now is between the GTX 960M and the GTX 970M. However, the word out, according to Notebookcheck.net, is that there may be a chip coming out somewhere in between with the GeForce GTX 965M (Ti) GPU.

But the thing is, such may not be indicated in the specs of upcoming notebooks. Hence, potential notebook buyers could (or could not) be getting new laptops with the better graphics chip, although it may not be entirely emphasized.

Of course, the part model number (GeForce GTX 965M (Ti)) could be a good point of reference, although its consistency and actual existence could be in question.

Assuming that it does arm leading brands, which reportedly includes Clevo, MSI, and Gigabyte as mentioned by vr-zone.com, here are some of the interesting perks that the graphics processing unit (GPU) stands to bring.

One is that an updated chip could be armed with up to 20% higher clock rate which stands to give added boost in performance and likely closer to GeForce GTX 970M.

Now, aside from that, upped clock rates could also be on the mend. That means that the base clock could see a jump from 935MHz from 924MHz and the maximum GPU boost clock going up to 1151MHz from 950MHz on the current GTX 965M.

Summing it up, the unexpected push and added power could be something to look forward to. Such promises to be a good boost for the ones into mobile gaming or media entertainment with HDMI 2.0, each added attribute certainly something welcome for the ones looking to maximize what their notebook can deliver.

If any changes are indeed made to select notebooks, such should come by the first quarter of 2016.
