Get Up On Your Feet - worship music from a local church

There are many “Best ofs” and “Biggest” worship albums floating around these days and they have their place. But right here we have a worship album that is about worship way down with the little people - at the local church.

Stuart Barbour is a pastor and worship leader originally from Scotland who now lives near Brighton and attends a church called The Point.

The Point originally started in September 2004 with the vision of being a church with something a bit different. That is to say they wanted to explore what it means to be a church in today’s culture and context in 21st century Britain and how to connect people on a personal level. The anchor scripture was Acts chapter 2 vs 42-47 which describes the early church.

Now many years later they are thanking God for all he has done through them and how he has changed people’s lives in the area. With that gratitude in mind, they've released their new worship album “Get Up On Your Feet”. Some songs have been written by Stuart himself and others are their renditions of popular songs by other worship leaders, such as “Because Of Your Love” by Brenton Brown.

The songs and the melodies have a fresh sound but also a cosiness and familiarity that bring them closer to home. Young and talented singers also join for the choir segments - all the sounds of real people in a real local church thanking God together with real excitement in their voices.

This is the first of the “Worshipping Churches” so there will be more to come in the future. We're already looking forward to it!
