National Basketball Association (NBA) veteran Anderson Varejão may soon become the newest member of the Golden State Warriors.

According to league sources spoken to by ESPN's Marc Stein, the Warriors are reportedly looking into the possibility of adding Varejão after he was acquired via trade and subsequently released by the Portland Trail Blazers.

Varejão could help provide the Warriors with additional frontcourt depth to go with his energetic style of play.

As it stands now, the Warriors cannot add Varejão right away, as they will first need to free up a roster spot before they can ink the veteran big man to a new deal.

Prior to his trade and ensuing release by the Blazers, Varejão had only been part of one NBA team, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Aside from the Warriors, other teams including the San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks are also reportedly looking to add the former Cavalier.

Varejão is averaging 2.6 points and 2.9 rebounds per game in limited action this season.

Varejão is not the only recently released big man who may be joining a new team.

According to ESPN's Tim MacMahon, the Mavericks are also reportedly looking to add former Boston Celtics forward David Lee.

Lee was released by the Celtics recently, and he too could provide needed frontcourt depth for contending teams.

One team that will not be able to sign Lee, at least until next season, is Golden State.

Lee is ineligible to return to the Warriors until next season after he was traded by the team back in July. He was part of the 2014–15 Warriors team that won the NBA title last year.

Lee is averaging 7.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in the limited minutes he has been able to play this season, after also playing sparingly during his run with the Golden State Warriors last year.
