The long rumored Google Nexus 10 was allegedly replaced by a Nexus 12 tablet, according to a report.

Tech website Motoring Crunch reported that current Nexus 10 will not have a 10-inch successor but a 12-inch Nexus follow up instead. This rumor first emerged early this year when Samsung unveiled its own 12-inch tablets. Samsung was Google's partner in making the Nexus 10 in 2012.

Moreover, reports claimed that Google axed the Nexus 7 in lieu of a Nexus 8 tablet. One of the reasons for dropping the Nexus 7 is due to lesser competition in the 8-inch market, which is the same predicament in the 12-inch section. Thus, it is not impossible for Google to increase the size of its full-fledged tablet.

However, some reports claimed that Google is dropping the Nexus 10 line as the company has a lot on its plate. Google is allegedly working on Nexus 8 tablet and Nexus 6 smartphone to be released in the next few months.

Moreover, Google is also currently working on its Android operating system. Android 4.4.3 Kitkat OS update is allegedly on the works for its release this month. Furthermore, the Redomond-based company is also developing the Android 4.5 Lollipop, which is expected to be released in June at Google's I/O Conference.

Meanwhile, rumor has it that Google will still push the release of Nexus 10 2. Some of the purported specs and features of the Google Nexus 10 2 are: 10.1-inch screen with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution. The screen is protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass 3. The tablet will pack an 8MP at the back and the front camera could be 2.1MP. The tablet will also pack a dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, dual-side NFC and a 9500mAh non-removable battery.

Under the hood, the tablet was speculated to be powered by 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor or the NVIDIA Tegra 4, 3GB RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. The tablet was also speculated to come in the standard 16GB and 32GB models.
