Word on the street about the Nexus 5 2015, Google's latest handset offering, is that it will come in two variants. A new report making the rounds claims that both LG and Huawei were tapped by the tech titan to develop a high-end and a low-end version of the upcoming handset, respectively. 

The involved parties have not confirmed nor debunked the rumors although if they do collaborate on this, it will be the first time Google will release two Nexus handsets in a single year, should they choose to bring them out at the same time. Furthermore, it will be the company's first time to work with Huawei on a Nexus device. 

LG's involvement in this is not something surprising. It has been anticipated as the two manufacturers' partnership three years ago proved beneficial to both the companies. The success of their collaboration is, presumably, the core reason Google will want to work with the South Korea-based company once more. 

With LG supposedly making the high-end version of the Nexus 5 2015, it is expected that the future smartphone will exhibit the makings of its flagship, the LG G4, although the prevalent specs in the rumors include a 5.2-inch Quad HD display (2560 x 1440 pixel resolution) and 64 GB storage. 

The high-end flavor of the Nexus 5 2015 will likely make use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor while Huawei will be packing its own take on the device with a Snapdragon 620. Other reports claim it's the other way around, and that the device might even come with a 5.7-inch display. 

The addition of an 8-megapixel selfie snapper is being mentioned, as well as the use of an octa-core Kirin 930 processor. The Nexus 5 2015 is also said to support Android 5.1 Lollipop by the time it makes it out into the market. As for the release date, media outlets are on the lookout for a possible third quarter release.
