Google Nexus 5X vs Samsung Galaxy S6 specs comparison: The battle of the premium Android devices

Google finally revealed that the Nexus 5X will be shipped in retail stores before the end of this month, which means that consumers can start purchasing the latest generation of their flagship smartphone in just a few days.

But how will the upcoming Google smartphone fare against the other leading Android smartphones in the market today, including Samsung Galaxy S6?

Samsung dropped its latest flagship device back in March, and Android lovers were delighted to see the high-end specs of the device by the South Korean tech firm. However, Google's newest smartphone line that was manufactured by LG is reportedly equipped with some of the best features that consumers are looking for in a mobile phone.

Which flagship Android device from two leading tech companies should consumers consider buying with their hard-earned money?

Here is a comparison between the two high-end Android devices:

Samsung Galaxy S6

Samsung

Samsung's newest flagship device comes with 5.1-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display with Fingerprint sensor. It is equipped with an Exynos 7420 chipset with a quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and Quad-core 2.1 GHz Cortex-A57 processor and Mali-T760MP8 graphics processor.

Samsung Galaxy S6 also comes with a 3-GB RAM with three built-in memory options such as 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB. It also features a 16-MP primary camera with LED flash and autofocus capabilities, as well as a 5-MP secondary front shooter.

Google's upcoming smartphone will come in a bigger, 5.2-inch touchscreen display with Fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, the device will be equipped with a Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 chipset with Quad-core 1.44 GHz Cortex-A53, dual-core 1.82 GHz Cortex-A57 processor and Adreno 418 GPU. It will also feature 2 GB of RAM with 16-GB or 32-GB internal memory options. But just like the Samsung Galaxy S6, it does not come with an internal card slot.

The camera feature of Nexus 5X may not be as grand as Samsung's device, since it will only have a 12.3-MP camera with autofocus and dual-LED flash. Its secondary camera, on the other hand, will be 5-MP just like the one from the South Korean brand.

But while Samsung Galaxy S6 runs using the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system, Nexus 5X will feature the latest Android 6,0 Marshmallow straight out of the box.
