Enthusiasts might be familiar with the HTC Nexus Sailfish and Marlin, Google's upcoming smartphones, but it is also possible that the 2016 Google Nexus 7 will also be released alongside these devices.

According to MNR Daily, the Google Nexus 7 2016 tablet was confirmed by  infamous leakster Evan Blass — also known on Twitter as @evleaks — who revealed that the new tablet is going to be manufactured by Huawei and that its primary features will include a 7-inch screen as well as 4 GB RAM.

However, the leakster did not go into full detail about the System on Chip for the device, but other rumors say that the new tablet may be running with the Snapdragon 820, which is Qualcomm's latest-generation processor.

The Google Nexus 7 2016 is also rumored to have the latest Android Operating System — the Android 7.0 Nougat — since the OS has recently been released. Furthermore, it will have a Quad HD Display on top of its 7-inch screen, which can certainly entice movie enthusiasts with its high resolution.

Per the alleged confirmation for Huawei manufacturing the tablet, PC Advisor UK reports that Huawei's PR already made its official comment on the subject. The company says that they are committed to making the world's most compelling and innovative devices, and as a matter of policy they do not give comments about their future products. As such, this rumor is highly unlikely at the face of these official statements.

Meanwhile, should the Google Nexus 7 2016 tablet be released this year, it is expected to have a $260 price ceiling, but with the specifications stated above, the facts do not seem to add up.

Unless, of course, Google is trying to revert back to its original business model where the content sales is their primary concern.

Regardless, the Nexus 7 is still undeniably popular, and it is possible for a reveal to be made sometime before the year ends.
