Google Nexus 7 2016 release date, specs: highly anticipated tablet to be out by Thanksgiving?

The Google Nexus 7 2016 is one of the highly anticipated devices to come from the search engine giant. The community is speculating to see it in the flesh before Thanksgiving.

Several reports suggest that the upcoming tablet may launch together with Android 7.0 Nougat and may also be the first tablet to carry the said mobile operating system. Both are speculated to be released by next month. This rumor was further strengthened by Google's move to halt the sales of its Nexus 9, typically signaling that a new one is about to arrive.

Hardware wise, the lack of leaks and sources has prompted the community to speculate about specs. Some suggest that the device could arrive with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM and a huge amount of internal storage, around 128GB and expandable via a microSD. The large processing power is believed to support heavy multitasking for the tablet, which is geared for the professionals who are always on the go.

University Herald suggested that the Google Nexus 7 2016 may also come equipped with an NVIDIA Tegra X1 processor and may possibly have up to 2TB of expandable memory. Huawei is rumored to be the company tasked to manufacture the 7-inch device.

The Nexus 7 2016 is not the only device that Google is working on in tight secrecy. Two Nexus phones are also speculated to be launched together with the tablet, called Marlin and Sailfish.

The Nexus 7 2016 is rumored to arrive in a September with a very affordable price of around US$260. The original Nexus 7 tablet's commercial success back in 2012 was also because of its low price point.
