GoPro, the company that is responsible for rolling out durable action cameras will continue to upgrade its lineup of products with the release of the GoPro Hero 5. The upcoming action cam is expected to be released in October, 2015, according to the information posted on Christian Post. The website has also stated that the Hero 5 will be loaded with improved video recording and image capturing specifications, surpassing the limits of the company's current flagship action camera, the GoPro Hero 4.

Starting off, one of the most important features of the upcoming recording device will be the capability to record up to a maximum resolution of 8K. While the frame rate of recording at such resolution has not been mentioned, the Hero 5 will be able to record 4K videos at an astounding frame rate of 60 FPS. Additionally, the Hero 5 will also be equipped with a faster Bluetooth 4.0 module that will be able to transfer high definition content to other devices wirelessly at a much quicker pace. The speed of transfer will be thoroughly crucial, seeing as how recording at the 8K resolution will be consuming a boatload of flash memory space.

The company's Hero 4 action camera was shipped out in two variants; a silver and a black one. The black variant was considered to be the more favored model, due to its capability of recording 30 FPS on the 4K resolution. Even though the silver version of the GoPro Hero 4 possessed a touch screen feature, its 4K recording capabilities were limited to 15 FPS.

With the release of the GoPro Hero 5, the company will be looking to sever the aforementioned limitation and scale up the performance of the upcoming action camera. As for the pricing details, it is expected that GoPro will be attaching a $499.99 price tag to its Hero 5, seeing as how the tech firm's Hero 4 Black version is currently retailing at the same price.
