'Grimm' season 6 release date, spoilers: Nick and Renard continue to have tension
Renard (Sasha Roiz) will still be at odds with Nick (David Giuntoli) when "Grimm" returns for season 6, even if the former Portland Police Bureau captain-turned-politician saved the latter at the end of the previous season.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con, Giuntoli hinted that the former colleagues still find themselves as bitter rivals.
"We've read the first three scripts [of season 6]. We're not friends in the first three scripts," the actor said.
Roiz also mentioned that his character will continue to explore his dark powers in season 6.
"Renard kind of goes to the dark side quite a bit," he stated.
While it is not unusual for the characters of the series to venture into their dark sides at some point in the plot, the cast believes that Renard's evil phase could be different.
Reggie Lee, who portrays the role of Renard's assistant Drew Wu, stated: "It does feel like this is, most collectively, the one cast member [who] has been pulled to the opposite side from the rest of the cast."
Meanwhile, the upcoming season of "Grimm" will also feature the exciting changes in Monroe and Rosalee's household after the pregnancy announcement at the end of season 5. But according to Silas Weir Mitchell, his character Monroe will still feel a bit uneasy over his wife's condition because of the danger that the gang was currently in.
"We're just going to be worried. Really, really worried," the actor said in an interview. But Bree Turner said that the pregnancy will surely add more fun to the story.
"I'm sure there'll be some foot rubs and some pickle requests," the actress said.
In related news, Giuntoli and co-star Bitsie Tulloch announced their engagement during their appearance at the 2016 SDCC.
"We did decide that Comic-Con...I was going to wear the ring out in public for the first time," the actress, who portrays the role of Juliette/Eve in the series, stated.
The couple was engaged back in April but decided to keep it to themselves first before sharing the news.
"Grimm" season 6 is expected to premiere on NBC this fall.
