GTA 6 to feature return to Vice City in 2017?

Fans of the Grand Theft Auto series will definitely be thrilled that the release for the highly anticipated GTA 6 is rumored to hit shelves in July 2017.

GTA creator Rockstar Games revealed that GTA 6 might return to the Vice City. In addition, the much awaited edition might feature multiple protagonists. This format is similar with that presented in GTA V. Some reports also disclosed that one of the protagonists will probably be Asian while another would be a successor of John Marston from Red Dead Redemption.

However, President of Rockstar Games North Leslie Benzies clarified these speculations.

"We don't know which direction GTA VI will take, but we've got some great plans moving forward," Benzies declared in an interview with Develop Magazine back in November 2013.

"We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don't know what GTA 6 will be, but we've got some ideas," added Benzies.

With respect to the rumor that GTA 6 will be returning to Vice City, the studio admitted to playing with the idea of the next GTA game to revisit all the cities of the previous GTA games.

"Of course at some point we would like to have one big world containing all our cities and let the player fly between them and revisit their favorite areas. In that context re-imagining Vice City would be very interesting," Benzies shared.

Admitting that Vice City is a favorite location to be revisited in the next generation consoles, Benzies clarified that the decision of revisiting the place leans more on the era rather than the setting itself.

"Miami in the 1980's is so iconic it would feel strange to revisit the city in a different time period." Benzies explained.

Despite all speculations, however, no actual plans have been released.
