'GTA Online' news: 'Lowriders: Custom Classics' now out for online multiplayer mode

Rockstar Games Newswire

Rockstar Games has announced that a new expansion is already out for "Grand Theft Auto Online." However, contrary to earlier expectations, the new DLC serves as a direct expansion of a prior one.

In an announcement posted on the Rockstar Games Newswire, the developer said that the new expansion is part of the previous "Lowriders" DLC. The newly released content, dubbed "Lowriders: Custom Classics," adds new stocks and item options for the bonus in-game items that were launched with the original "Lowriders" content.

The new stocks come in the form of two new car additions to Benny's Original Motor Works. The new Dundreary Virgo Classic and Vapid Slamvan, much like the other selections in the car pool, are all upgradable and can be fitted with custom items. Players can also visit Ammu-Nation for newly stocked Compact Rifles and the Double Barrel Shotgun, as well as check out some of the outfitters in Los Santos for new clothing items.

Meanwhile, the new expansion also unlocks a new Adversary Mode for "GTA Online" players. Dubbed the "Sumo Mode," the tag itself already gives a hint at what players must do to complete the mission. The description reads, "The new Sumo Adversary Mode has players working (either alone or in teams) to force the opposition out of the designated arena. Whether it's size, speed, or control -- players must choose a vehicle that suits their playstyle and be the last team remaining in the arena before the clock runs out to win."

The new "Lowriders: Custom Classics" DLC is part of Rockstar Games' continuous update for its current "Grand Theft Auto" franchise installment. However, while the expansion content is a welcome one, it is not what fans expected. Previous speculations said that Rocktar Games may be thinking of "Las Vegas-style" content, unlocking the gambling dens in-game as part of a "Casino" DLC.
