'GTA V' for PS4, Xbox One: steps for character and progress transfer online

"Grand Theft Auto V" has relaunched for next-generation consoles! The way to welcome "GTA Online" is by transferring one's characters and progress in the game from a PS3 or an Xbox 360 to their PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

Rockstar has detailed the steps on how to do the task painlessly, now that most gamers have certainly laid hands on the title. As a start, players who wish to go through the progress need to prepare their Rockstar Games Social Club account and have it linked to their PlayStation Network account and their PlayStation Plus membership or their Xbox Live Gold account.

The game prompts for the transfer when players navigate through the Character Select Wheel or the Pause Menu. Those who want to hold off the transfer process can always return to the Pause Menu to get to it again. But those who wish to push through are given the chance to change the appearance of their "GTA Online" characters once more. Once done, they can proceed to move transferrable things like the hard-earned in-game money, rank and RP and game progress. Items and property like vehicles, weapons and garments, creator jobs and missions, crews and Achievements and Trophies are also transfer-ready.

One important note is that players would not be able to transfer purchased in-game money between console families (Xbox 360 to Xbox One or PS3 to PS4) but the earned in-game money from the PS3 and Xbox 360 progress will be added to their balance, so hard work and crime growth pay loads off in "GTA." However, players would have to leave their job playlists and bookmarked playlists as well as leaderboards, world records, personal bests and snapmatic photos to their last-gen consoles as they will be counted out.

Players can only transfer a set of saves one time. While the existing characters on the PS3 and Xbox 360 remain playable, players and their progress subsequent to the initial transfer will no longer be transferrable. Characters that were made in a PS4 or an Xbox One prior to the transfer will be overwritten.

Though freshly stocked in digital shelves, the PS4 and Xbox One version of "GTA V" has received gracious reviews from game outlets, iterating its major visual overhaul, cool soundtrack and novel features while naming it the best in the whole of the franchise and to some, in the entire game realm.

"GTA V" for PS4 and Xbox One is up for grabs now. Don't miss out!
