James Gunn took to Twitter last week to answer several fan questions about "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."

While the director did not reveal any major spoilers, Gunn did say that some new characters have been cast and that Marvel hasn't given him "a single non-budgetary restriction on Vol. 2."

On Tuesday, Feb.1, Gunn took Instagram to post a behind-the-scenes photo from the upcoming sequel which shows the director with actors Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista and Sean Gunn rehearsing for the film. He captioned the shot, "Using Bautista as an example of good acting during rehearsals for #GotGVol2."

As previously reported, Saldana will be reprising her role as Gamora, Pratt will be returning as Peter Quill (also known as Star Lord), while Bautista will return as Dax. Sean plays Yondu's (Michael Rooker) crew mate Kraglin and also serves as the on-set actor for Rocket, who is voiced by Bradley Cooper.

The director also posted a photo on Instagram on Friday of him rehearsing with Sean, Rooker and Gunn's dog, Von Spears. Von Spears had a cameo in the first film and appeared as a holographic dog who is being walked by a little girl when Peter Quill arrives in Morag.

Pratt also uploaded a photo last week. The image was of Peter Quill's Walkman with a tape labeled "Awesome Mix Vol. 2." In a lengthy caption, the 36-year-old expressed his joy about being back on the set of "Guardians of the Galaxy, saying that he is "overwhelmed by feelings of joy, gratitude, conviviality, camaraderie, elation, exhilaration." Pratt also promised fans that the sequel will be "the greatest spectacle film of all time."

"Guardians of the Galaxy" premieres on May 5, 2017.
