"Pokémon GO" has become by far the most successful mobile game and at the same time one of the few apps to boast augmented reality. On that note, reports are rife that Niantic has gone back to the drawing board in order to develop a new project that has a fan base as massive as the "Pokémon" mythos.

The developer is rumored to be developing another mobile game based on J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" series presumed to be dubbed as "Harry Potter GO." However, Niantic has remained mum about such rumors though the "Harry Potter" fandom is already quite expectant about it.

The anticipation has even fueled the creation of a fan-made video for the rumored game suggesting elements that "Harry Potter" fans want to see if ever the title would come to fruition. Per the short clip, the game will still ideally feature AR technology as players would be tasked to capture mystic creatures and collect so-called witch and wizard cards. Moreover, the video also featured an option where players can choose which house to be affiliated with.

Since the rumored "Harry Potter" game's fate is still uncertain, fans of the lore can make do with an upcoming mobile app from WB Games titled "Fantastic Beasts: Cases from the Wizarding World" slated to be playable starting Nov. 17, in line with the premiere of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" which is the basis of the game.

Albeit without AR technology, the upcoming mobile game, available on both Android and iOS, will be traversing familiar spots within the Potterverse. Furthermore, the hidden object mystery game includes a feature where players can somewhat be drafted among the different houses of the wizarding school.
