Henry Cavill, more commonly known as Superman, has revealed his intentions of playing the role for a very long time.

During this year's BAFTA Award Season Tea in Los Angeles, Cavill expressed his desire to play Superman for as many years as possible. While neither Warner Bros. nor director Zack Snyder have confirmed the exact amount of years that Cavill will be kept as the iconic "boy scout" superhero, the actor is expected to keep on reprising his roles at least until the year 2019.

CinemaBlend quotes Cavill as saying, "As many as it takes. I love the character. I love working with Warner Bros. and what they're doing with it, and so fingers crossed I'll be able to tell the story for many, many years to come."

After Snyder tapped him to play the superhero with omnipotent abilities in "Man of Steel," Cavill became an overnight sensation. But the 31-year-old actor confessed to Jay Leno in the "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" that he had been wanting to play the character ever since Brandon Routh took on the role in "Superman Returns."

At any rate, it has already been confirmed that he will be appearing alongside Ben Affleck in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which is scheduled to hit theatres on March 25, 2016. In addition to this, he will also be joining a whole group of superheroes in "Justice League — Part One," which is expected to be released on Nov. 17, 2017.

As for the sequel of "Man of Steel," it has not been confirmed whether there is going to be one at all but since Cavill is expected to play Clark Kent until 2019, there could be a script in the works. As for the actor's latest project, there is a trailer that is going to be released soon.
