'Heroes Reborn' cast news, air date: Another familiar face returning Fall 2015

Heroes Reborn

Another cast member of the original "Heroes" sci-fi series is returning to its revival called "Heroes Reborn."

A report on Entertainment Weekly confirmed that actor Gren Grunberg, who played a cop who has mental telepathy in the original "Heroes" series, will be joining the cast of "Heroes Reborn."

Grunberg, however, will not be a series regular. He will only reported have a guest star arc on the new series.

Even before he was confirmed to be joining "Heroes Reborn," Grunberg already expressed willingness to join the revival series, saying fans "really wants closure" about the show.

"I'm excited as a fan, to see what happens. If I can be a part of this, I would jump at the chance…None of us have been notified. We have no idea what's going on. They hinted that they might use some of the old characters to move story and plot," Grunberg earlier said.

He added that his original cop character, Matt Parkman, will be "great to use" to investigate other people with superpowers in the series.

Aside from Grunberg, several other original "Heroes" cast members have been confirmed to be reprising their role in the revival series.

These include Jack Coleman, who played the mysterious Noah Bennet; fan favorite Maki Oka, who will once again play the time-travelling Hiro Nakamura, and Jimmy Jean-Louis, who will reprise his role as the memory-erasing Haitian.

Leading new cast members is actor Zachary Levi, who became popular for his role in the spy comedy "Chuck," Robbie Kay from "Once Upon a Time," and Ryan Guzman from "Pretty Little Liars."

"Heroes Reborn" will air every Thursday night this fall on NBC.
