A post from the official Twitter account of the Central Intelligence Agency apparently provided a spoiler about what is in store in the upcoming season of "Homeland." 

Early this week, the verified SNS account of the U.S. government agency tweeted, "Good Riddance, Carrie Mathison." It means that the CIA is actually glad that the lead character in the political thriller drama will not be working for the agency anymore when the show returns for its fifth season. 

The tweet also featured a link to a write-up from The New York Times that claims how much the real women working for the agency are excited to lose their association with Claire Danes' character. According to reports, the real women of the CIA are already tired of seeing fictional female agents on TV and in movies who paint a wrong picture of how they actually do their work. 

"The problem is that they portray most women in such a one-dimensional way; whatever the character flaw is, that's all they are," said Counterterrorism Center analyst Gina Bennett, who has been working for the agency for at least 25 years. "It can leave a very distinct understanding of women at the agency — how we function, how we relate to men, how we engage in national security — that is pretty off." 

Another female agent shared Bennett's sentiments. Sandra Grimes, 69, stated that it would be better if films and TV shows stop using centerfold models wearing tight clothes to portray the roles of women in their agency. They are particularly unhappy with the fact that Carrie's persona in "Homeland" is described as a woman with bipolar disorder who is not afraid to sleep with her colleagues and contacts.

Deadline reported last March that "Homeland's" Carrie will not be working for the CIA anymore once the show begins its fifth season in September, and these real-life women, along with others who are tired of seeing highly sexualized female CIA characters on fictional shows, are glad to hear that news.
