Showtime recently released the latest trailer for "Homeland" season four, leaving fans desperate for more after the jaw-dropping Season 3 finale.

The trailer showed that everyone in the series is very stressed out.

In the two-hour season premiere, the show will take the viewers six months after the series of events that happened during last season's finale. Claire Danes' award-winning character Carrie Mathison will be back on her mission in Afghanistan and Pakistan while her sister Maggie takes care of her child with now deceased Nicholas Brody.

The trailer began with Carrie telling her sister, "They're sending me back, I don't have a choice." But Maggie replied, "I don't believe you."

Season four's plot revolves around Carrie's discovery about a new terrorist plot, and she is determined to expose the truth. However, the CIA agent finds herself facing big-named oppositions among the local forces.

In an earlier interview with Homeland co-creator Alex Gansa, he said that Season 4 is "like doing another pilot." He also said that the new season is like relaunching the award-winning series, which is both "exciting and terrifying" at the same time.

Fans of the show should also expect that Carrie's character become the solo lead in the series, after Brody was tortured and killed in the ending of Season 3. Apparently, the series creators are not thinking about adding a secondary lead to replace the role left by actor Damian Lewis.

However, the new plot will highlight some of the series' other prominent characters, including Peter Quinn who is being portrayed by Rupert Friend and Fara Sherazi played by Nazanin Boniadi.

A lot of major recurring roles are being added in the new season as well, including those played by Laila Robins, Corey Stoll, and Suraj Sharma, among others.

The first episode of "Homeland" season four premieres Sunday, October 5.
