Details about the next installment of "Homeland" are finally revealed, after showrunner Alex Gansa faced the panel during the show's FYC Emmy panel in New York this week.

According to the showrunner, the events of the entire "Homeland" season 6 will happen between the Election Day in November until the new president's inauguration in January.

"During this strange and interregnum where a very fragile transfer of power takes place between the outgoing president and the incoming president-elect," Gansa said during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

"That is a very complex transfer of power filled with all kinds of anxiety and different competing interests — How do I get the ear of the new president? How does the new president elect deal with the president that's going out? — and it's a dangerous time in our democracy," the showrunner added.

The upcoming season will be set in New York, which is a welcome change after shooting the past seasons in Iran, Afghanistan, and Germany.

Meanwhile, Ganza also teased what's in store for Quinn (Rupert Friend) in "Homeland" season 6, saying that viewers will be surprised to find out how the CIA operative will end up after his near-death experience in season 5.

A source told TVLine that Quinn will survive, but he will be a changed man after that.

"If he should live, it will not be — in any way, shape or form — the way he has lived to date. "If he should live, it will not be — in any way, shape or form — the way he has lived to date," Showtime programming head Gary Levine also said during the Television Critics Association back in January.

Gansa also told Collider that Nicholas Brody's (Damian Lewis) family could also be seen in the upcoming season.

"Homeland" season 6 is slated to return to Showtime this fall.
