Fresh episodes of "House of Cards" season 5 will drop on Netflix on Tuesday, May 30 and it looks like U.S. President Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) is in big trouble. Teasers spell bad luck for the president but who will likely take him down?

A promo for "House of Cards" season 5 showed the American flag hanging upside down. Joel Kinnaman told Parade that viewers should expect a showdown between Underwood and his character, New York Governor Will Conway. As shown in the previous season, the governor is running against President Underwood in the elections. "The Underwoods were trailing in the polls and team Conway was poised to take over," he said.

However, Conway is not likely President Underwood's biggest problem in "House of Cards" season 5. Tom Hammerschmidt (Boris McGiver), a journalist, has been trying to connect the president for years to the Zoe Barnes' (Kate Mara) death and Rachel Posner's (Rachel Brosnahan) disappearance.

Hammerschmidt could likely be hot on the trail of these cases this new season. McGiver clued the New York Post that he doesn't feel his character's life is safe in "House of Cards" season 5. The actor also dished more characters would disappear. "Some of it is wonderfully shocking," he said.

Right after "House of Cards" closed last season, rumors were rife about President Underwood's alleged imminent death. Some speculated this would be the show's natural trajectory based on the original British series the Netflix production followed. Will the show risk losing its most important character?

Other speculations, however, point to two other potential high profile casualties in season 5, if it's not Frank Underwood. Either Claire Underwood (Robin Wright), the president's wife and vice presidential running mate, or Doug Stamper (Mike Kelly), the president's chief-of-staff, could meet their untimely end on the hands of the president because they know too much of his secrets, according to Netflix Life.

Viewers need not wait long to find out how everything unfolds for "House of Cards" season 5. Watch out for the episodes' release on Tuesday, May 30, at 12 midnight on Netflix.
