Given the complications that the Netflix television show "House of Cards" has experienced due to the sexual allegations made against actor, Kevin Spacey, the future of the show looks more uncertain with each passing moment. It has been recently reported that Netflix has decided to extend the hiatus of the show, along with multiple speculations as to what is going to happen going forward in the filming of season 6.

In a report by Deadline, the date of production will continue on Dec. 8, instead of Nov. 27. The senior vice president of television business and legal affairs, Pauline Micelli, has stated that for the two weeks delay, the cast and crew members will be paid for the extended waiting time.

However, it is important to mention that despite there being an announced date, it does not necessarily mean that production will resume on Dec. 8 due to the ongoing investigation on Spacey. This means that the future of "House of Cards" is still uncertain, as the writers and the show runners are still probably deliberating or rewriting the plot for the entirety of the final season.

According to Page Six, it is already expected that Spacey would most likely be written off in the last season. However, it is still unclear how the producers of the show are going to do just that given that he is the main focal point of the show. Whatever the case may be, Micelli has stated that by Dec. 8, fans should expect another update regarding the fate of the show.

It seems that the producers have no choice but to find a means to take away Frank Underwood from the plot for the entirety of season 6. International Business Times has reported that the script writers are now busy creating multiple possible storylines that would focus on Claire Underwood, played by Robin Wright, as well as Doug Stemper, played by Michael Kelly.
