Houston Rocket rumors 2015: Tom Thibodeau could be taking over the coaching reins

Tom Thibodeau has been quiet in the background of the National Basketball Association (NBA) scene ever since being fired by the Chicago Bulls.

He was, of course, fired not because his team was losing but more on because of his differences with Bulls management. While Thibodeau was falling short of leading the Bulls to another NBA title, the fact remains that he is one of the more reliable coaches who can motivate and do wonders for any NBA team.

And if current reports are any indication, his next stop could be the Houston Rockets next year if interim coach J.B. Bickerstaff fails to pan out. But assuming he does get named, will his style fit the egotistical tandem of James Harden and Dwight Howard?

Apparently, Kevin McHale found that the hard way. Comparing McHale and Thibodeau, they are not far apart. They are good coaches armed with the motivational talent that could help any team get places.

However, there is that part of playing with egos and the superstar complex, something that both Howard and Harden seem to carry.

So far, the Rockets are slowly taking form, although it still remains to be seen if the effort will last. They find themselves in a precarious spot at eighth position in the Western Conference, although they are nearly on the same vote as six other teams.

Bickerstaff is, of course, trying to make ends meet but thus far he hasn't been that impressive.

The fact remains that the Rockets' woes are from within and unless that is weeded out, it is hard to imagine how the Rockets can duplicate their feat last season.

If that eventually happens, one has to wonder if instilling new head coach will be the answer. Thibodeau could be that guy but as far as results are concerned, it may not be as easy as it looks.
