Jason Terry's next career move has been set; he will continue playing for the Houston Rockets at least for the 2015–16 NBA season.

Terry, 37, drew interest from teams like the Utah Jazz and the New Orleans Pelicans, whose main agenda was obviously to add more experienced depth to their backcourts. But rather than get a chance to mentor the rising turks of the Jazz and the Pelicans, Terry decided it would be best to stay with the Rockets.

Terry has already informed the Rockets of his decision to stick it out next season, reportedly agreeing to a veteran's minimum for the coming season. But the decision seems to have been swayed as well a bit by star guard James Harden, who, Terry admits, played a key role in convincing him to stay put.

"No question, he was all over me," Terry said in an interview with Fox 26 Sports. "(Harden) basically wasn't letting me go anywhere. That was tough for me knowing how important I am to his growth and his development," he added.

Terry joined the Rockets back in September in a trade involving Alonzo Gee. Terry played backup for most of the regular season, averaging seven points off the bench.

He was, however, bumped up to the starting position during the post season when regular starting point guard Patrick Beverly went down to injury. Terry improved his numbers a bit from there, averaging 9.2 points and 2.8 assists in the playoffs.

Terry is likely to return to his old role of back-up to Beverly and perhaps even newcomer Ty Lawson for the coming season.

Regardless, his decision should help ease the burden of the Rockets at the point guard position. To recall, the Rockets struggled in the previous season's playoffs due to a shortage in point guards; and such was their main focus in the offseason — to stock up on point guards that netted them Lawson.

So would this resolved problem improve the Rockets finish in the 2014–15 NBA Season?
