Houston Rockets NBA 2015 trade news: Should team deal Beverly?

Patrick Beverly was hardly a factor in the Houston Rockets campaign, leaving Kevin McHale improvising and making do with the player resources he had.

Apparently his moves weren't enough seeing how the Rockets fell to the Golden State Warriors. With the season over for the Rockets, the team is expected to evaluate player performance which could include some trades and player releases.

Though he hasn't been among the players that the Rockets are keen on releasing, Beverly is seen as the odd man out.

Beverly was a no-show due to injuries and one could only wonder how the Rockets would have fared against the Warriors had he been healthy.

The immediate need the Rockets would be looking for is a backup playmaker. Word has it that Jeremy Lin is being considered though there is no official word if that would materialize.

The Rockets need another point guard but there are constraints. That includes the financial side of things since the Rockets are sort of strapped for cash right now.

Trading Beverly could be an option but that would all depend on who the Rockets could get in return. Aside from Lin, a lot of the free agents carry heavy salaries which pushes Houston to seriously consider trading some of their assets.

Of the players in the fold, Beverly seems to be the first in line. And if they should eventually deal him, the player they are targeting to take his place needs to be better.

Who would go for him? Well the Mavericks could.

He could end up with the Dallas Mavericks who could get him to replace a departing Rajon Rondo to provide the Mavs some help in the backcourt. He would be reunited with former Rocket Chandler Parsons of course though it remains to be seen if owner Mark Cuban would be open to the idea.

Of all the players in the mix, Beverly could find himself playing elsewhere next season. But this is only if the Rockets find a suitable replacement/s to help fill up the whole at the point guard position.
