It will take a while before viewers finally learn who died in the pilot episode of ABC's "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3.

In fact, they would have to wait until the midseason finale before they finally learn who it is under the body bag that had Annalise close to hysterics, reported IBTimes. One thing's for sure, its an important character in the show "How to Get Away with Murder," which makes the loss even more heartbreaking.

"It's one of those decisions you make and then you hate yourself for it later ... and then realize you have to show who is under that sheet. Every episode, you'll see more of the night of the house fire and you'll always see more of who is not under that sheet ... so you can follow along at home for who is alive," show creator Pete Nowalk explained.

This new format is a departure from the previous seasons where the dead body was already revealed in the first episode, which makes this season more intense and intriguing.

In a separate interview with Nowalk for Us Weekly, he confirmed that the casualty — who is very dear to Annalise — plays a very pivotal role in the show, meaning the death could cause great ripples until the second half of the season.

Meanwhile, Karla Souza — who plays Laurel in the series — is expected to be the subject of more attention this season as her rich father was introduced in the last episode when she asked for his help in locating Frank (Charlie Weber).

In exchange, her dad asked to use her name in a new business venture, which is expected to be more trouble for the talented law student.

"She's taking matters into her own hands. The addiction that she has with Frank is that desperation and that need to give into being blackmailed by the one person that she hates the most, which is her father," she explained of her character's motivations.
