How you can get the strength to accomplish the difficult and demanding tasks that you must do daily

All of us face a certain amount of fatigue and exhaustion with each day that we live. We are faced with challenges, carry various amounts of pressure, and are burdened with living, right? Even though we could take breaks and rest periods once in a while, what we need is more than just physical, emotional and mental respites – we need to rest in the Lord and rely on His strength.

Getting recharged daily

The daily grind eats up our supply of energy and vigour with each day. Work stress, bills, and even getting stuck in traffic unknowingly drain the zest out of our lives. We all need to be refreshed and recharged by the Lord on a daily basis.

God is always excited and willing to refuel us for the long haul every day. Lamentations 3:22-23 says, "The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning."

What we fail to realise at times is that the book's title is "Lamentations," and that it was written during a tumultuous and difficult time in the writer's nation. Yet the writer of the book is able to encourage us that God's mercies are new and fresh every morning. If the writer was able to rejoice then, we can rejoice now!

Hoping in the Lord

Friend, I encourage you to hope in the Lord and rest in His presence daily. We all need God's healing and recharging touch daily. And when circumstances turn bleaker and darker, that's when we should cling to Him all the more.

God says of those who cling to Him: "Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honour him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation." (Psalm 91:14-16)

Isaiah 40:28-31 also encourages us to hope in God:

"Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint."
