Speculations place HTC to be pulling out all the stops in launching its newest flagship iteration, the One M10. Should the new rumors be proven true, it seems that HTC might also expand its Windows Mobile handset lineups.

According to WMPowerUser, although fans expect the upcoming One M10 to be powered by at least Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box, HTC may be thinking of releasing a Windows 10 Mobile version, if not an entire lineup of Windows 10 smartphones.

This rumor stemmed from a previous job post announcement offered by Microsoft, posted last December. Reportedly, Microsoft is currently looking for a director of account management in Taipei, HTC's HQ, to liaise with equipment manufacturers and third-party partners like HTC.

While it was not directly stated that the upcoming One M10 will have a Windows 10 Mobile version, a Microsoft OS in an HTC handset is certainly plausible. HTC already introduced a flagship Windows Mobile smartphone when it launched a WM version of the One M8 for Windows in 2014. GSM Arena mentioned that should HTC be thinking of a new lineup of Windows 10 Mobile phones, the company will be taking a huge risk. The industry follower reckoned that with a limited number of products carrying the platform, and in the face of the more popular Android and iOS-run phones, WM handsets are not selling that well.

Meanwhile, should HTC really plan on releasing a One M10 version with Windows 10, it will join other Windows 10 Mobile flagships as premium offerings. The HTC One M10 is speculated to carry top-tier specs and features, such as a new Snapdragon 820 processor with at least 3 GB of RAM, an overhauled all-metal design, and improved internals and features.
