HTC One M9 may replace iPhone 6 as the thinnest smartphone on the market as the rumored smartphone will be 7 millimeter thick.

There is no official spec sheet released for HTC One M9, but the tech industry is already speculating on the features of the upcoming HTC smartphone. The thin profile of HTC One M9 started from a concept image of the device that emerged.

Right now, the iPhone 6 Plus comes with 7.1 mm thickness, which is one of the thinnest smartphones on the market.

HTC One M9 renders also suggest that the smartphone will pack a larger screen display with quad HD pixel resolution. Moreover, the handset is speculated to come with 3500 mAh battery and a 5.1 MP front facing camera. Many are asking whether the HTC One M9 will pack ARM processors or will switch with Intel chipsets.

Rumors jumped in saying that the new smartphone will have an outer shell made from an "exotic material," which is claimed to be a composite of aluminum and liquid silicone. According to the grapevine, the HTC One M9 will sport a 5.2 inch screen display with QHD screen resolution and 564ppi, which is a big jump from HTC One M8's Full HD screen. 2K screen resolution is a common trend for current handsets.

There are rumors that said the HTC One M9 will pack Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805 or the upcoming 810 processor paired with 3GB of RAM. Other rumored features of the device are better camera with higher megapixels, water-resistant body, and longer battery life.

As for the release date, HTC One M9 will be released in March 2015. Some reports point to an announcement to be made on Mobile World Congress next year just like its rivals Sony and Samsung. This year, the Taiwanese OEM manufacturer held a simultaneous event in New York and London last March 24, 2014 announcing the HTC One M8. The handset was immediately available after its announcement.
