Chinese-language site Weibo has leaked photos showing the new HTC One Max with a fingerprint scanner.

If the pictures (which can be seen via Dutch website Mobileaks.nl) are true, then HTC is following the iPhone 5S with its TouchID fingerprint technology in the home button replacing the traditional passcode.

One of the pictures shows what appears to be the HTC One Max sat face down in between two of the HTC One devices. The reverse side of the HTC One Max shows a small silver square believed to be the fingerprint reader.

In terms of specs, the HTC One Max is rumored to have a Snapdragon 800 2.3GHz process, a 5.9-inch full HD screen, 16GB of internal storage and 2GB RAM, with an UltraPixel camera.  It could run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and come with a 3320mAh battery.

Last week, the branding for the new HTC One Max was leaked showing the "HTC One" in standard print size and the "max" alongside it in smaller print.

The HTC One Max is expected to be released this fall and a tweet from @evleaks suggests it will either be releasing on Sprint first or solely on the carrier.

"HTC One max is Sprint-bound," tweeted @evleaks.

@evleaks also said HTC One max is, prior to reports, powered by a Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 (4 x 1.7GHz).

The pictures leaked so far point to a pretty sophisticated and stylish device that will certainly give the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 a serious run for its money.

The Note 3 has a smaller 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display, a 2.3GHz quad-core LTE processor, and 3GB of RAM, with 32GB and 64GB storage options.
