Tech giant HTC is rumoured to be coming up with its own tablet that would closely resemble that of the Nexus 9.

The speculations started when images started to leak online on the rumoured tablet model that will be made by HTC. Tech observers are also saying that HTC might include this new tablet on the company's press junket, dubbed as the 'More Than One' event in Beijing. This event will see the company announce the purported new One E9 as well as the One E9 Plus.

The tablet, called the HTC T1H, will have an 8.9-inch QXGA screen that will be able to display a 2048 x 1536 resolution and 4:3 ratio, 2 GB of RAM, and a choice of either 16 GB or 32 GB internal storage. This seems to indicate that HTC will have two versions of the same device.

The rumoured hardware specs place the T1H close to that of the Nexus 9, especially that the tablet will also have a PowerVR SGX544 GPU. What makes the upcoming tablet different, however, is that HTC decided to use a new octa-core SoC Allwinner H8 chipset, with a 2.2 GHz speed. HTC hopes that doing away with a traditional Qualcomm or Mediatek chipset, or foregoing the Nexus 9's Tegra X1 processor, would have the new tablet perform outside of everyone's expectations.

The new tablet will also be slightly smaller than the Nexus 9, and design-wise, the device seems to be a bigger version of the company's One M9 smartphone.

Other specs of the rumoured device are an 8 MP main camera and a 1.6 MP front cam, a powerful 6700 mAh battery, and the company's proprietary BoomSound speakers. It will also run out of the box with Android 5.0 Lollipop, layered by the HTC Sense 7.0 for Tablet user interface.
