Huawei Honor 4A specs, price: New affordable handset

It has now been confirmed that Chinese information technology and telecommunication equipment and devices vendor Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. is preparing to launch its new Honor 4A smartphone, after the company announced the device earlier this week in China.

The new Honor 4A costs about US$100, according to a recent report by Phone Arena. The announcement comes after the recent release of the high-end Honor 7 smartphone by the Chinese giant earlier this month.

In terms of the specifications, the Huawei Honor 4A is expected to sport a 5-inch display screen with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It will have an 8-megapixel camera on the rear and a 2-megapixel camera on the front.

In addition, the new phone is expected to come with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 210 processor under the hood, along with 2GB RAM and up to 8GB internal memory storage. It is powered by a 2200 mAh battery and will support dual SIM capability and Long-Term Evolution (LTE) connectivity.

GSM Arena reports that the new phone will run on the new Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system (OS) along with the company's own Emotion UI 3.1. The report adds that the Honor 4A will surely compete against the likes of Xiaomi's Redmi smartphone series. As of this time, Huawei is still expected to announce the exact release date of the Honor 4A.

Another new smartphone by Huawei that's also expected to arrive sometime this year is the highly anticipated Huawei Nexus. New details in regards to this phone's specs have recently been revealed by known tech industry leaker Evan Blass or  evleaks.

In addition, the Chinese company's first ever smartwatch, the Huawei Watch, is also making its way to the market sometime by the fourth quarter of this year. The Huawei Watch was unveiled earlier this year at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 event, and just recently passed through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), according to recent reports.
