Huawei is making good on its promise to finally enter the U.S. market. At this year's Consumer Electronics Show, the China-based company announced that it will be breaching the Western shores through its flagship products, including the new Honor 5X.

According to Android Central, the Honor 5X will be the first of Huawei's lineups to reach American shores and will be followed by other iterations such as the premium Huawei Mate 8.

Meanwhile, the Honor 5X is the midrange offering from the Huawei Honor series of smartphones. The industry follower added that the new Honor 5X shares some specs and features from Huawei's other global brand, the Honor 7.

The U.S.-bound flagship carries a Snapdragon 615 processor paired with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD support. In terms of dimensions, the iteration has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD screen that displays 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Meanwhile, although the Honor 5X is considered a midrange iteration, Android Authority feels that Huawei may have set the midrange expectations a higher notch as the current offering has a premium look and feel.

According to the industry follower, the Honor 5X has a lot in common with other premium flagships in terms of design and form factor, but with a price tag of $200. The Honor 5X has an all-metal unibody frame, a decent 13-MP main camera on the back, and a 3,000-mAh battery. The Honor 5X also comes with a better-performing fingerprint sensor.

The Honor 5X comes to the U.S. market unlocked. However, Huawei announced that the iteration can be used on both AT&T and T-Mobile networks. Scheduled for release at the end of the month, Amazon now accepts pre-orders for $199 for the different color variants – Grey, Silver, and Gold.
