Huawei has already confirmed that a new Honor smartphone will launch this month. Speculations suggest that the Honor sub-brand will also come out with a new wearable.

Android Pure reports that a teaser image has been published by Huawei Honor's official account on China-based social media site Weibo. While the teaser did not showcase the device itself, the watch face background is a dead giveaway that the launch will be for a smartwatch. Dubbed as Honor S1, the said wearable will launch on Oct. 18.

Although Huawei has yet to come out with confirmed details on the new wearable, the specs, and features for the Honor S1 are already known. It is said that the upcoming smartwatch will have a 1.4-inch AMOLED screen for its watch face, displaying 400 x 400 resolution. There will be 512 MB of RAM, and the Honor S1 will come with 4 GB of internal memory. It is unclear on whether there will be an expansion feature. The watch will run on the Android Wear platform and will be powered by a 300 mAh battery.

The launch date for the new Android Wear device will be familiar to hardcore fans of the Huawei sub-brand. It has already been confirmed that Huawei will be launching the Honor 6X on the same date. In fact, the China-based tech maker has already sent out invites for the press launch.

Since the Honor S1 and the Honor 6X will be launched at the same press event, it is possible that the new wearable will also have a global launch. While Huawei has yet to confirm release details for the new devices, it can be noted that the Honor 6X predecessor, the Honor 5X, is a breakthrough iteration for Huawei. The Honor 5X is one of the devices launched in the U.S. market earlier this year.
