Huawei is making sure that its upcoming flagship is getting five stars in the battery department. The phone maker recently confirmed that Huawei Mate 10 will sport a whopping battery capacity that beats the Samsung Galaxy S8+, iPhone X, and other flagship smartphones in the market.

On the company's official Twitter account, Huawei revealed that Mate 10 will boast a 4000-milli-Ampere-hour (mAh) battery cell. That capacity is more than the S8 Plus' 3500 mAh and way bigger than that of the high-end iPhone X's (1821 mAh). It also wins against the newly introduced Google Pixel 2 XL (3520 mAh).

This could mean an increase in the overall thickness and weight of the handset, both of which are yet to be confirmed. However, Huawei seems to value longevity over design. In fact, its Twitter tease confidently said: "#ThatFeeling when your battery lasts all day on a single charge."

With Google, Samsung, and Apple all having played their cards in the 2017 smartphone wars, the Chinese company hopes to make a big year-end release with its Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. Both will be launched on Oct. 16 in Berlin, Germany.

Huawei, according to BGR, has confirmed that the Mate 10 series will be the first devices to house the new Kirin 970 system-on-chip (SoC). They will feature a dual-camera system as well. The latest in the series of leaks confirm the latter in a vertical setup just above the fingerprint sensor. It also revealed small bezels, on-display navigation buttons, and a shiny back cover. The live images came from Weibo, just three days after its press renders were leaked.

Other expected features include a 6.1-inch 1440 x 2880 Quad-HD AMOLED display, 64 gigabytes (GB) of internal storage and 6 GB of random access memory (RAM). Price details are currently unknown, but the Huawei Mate 10 Pro is estimated to cost at least $900 and the base model at $849.
