Japanese manga series "Hunter x Hunter" is known for its irregular issues and long gaps. Despite that, the manga is still internationally known because of its interesting story.

New reports reveal that the manga will return in January 2018. This leak comes from Yonkou Productions, which tweeted about the news. The post says that the manga will return in Shonen Jump Issue 9 of 2018. Yonkou Productions is a reliable source of leaks and early reports. However, fans need to wait for an official confirmation about the manga's release.

According to reports, fans of "Hunter x Hunter" were told that the manga will no longer be on an extended hiatus. In the 40th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, it is said that writer and illustrator Yoshihiro Togashi will resume working before the end of the year. This might mean that new chapters will be out after the holiday or before New Year.

Fans of "Hunter x Hunter" have already gotten used to the hiatuses of the manga. The series returned in the June 26 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. But it went dormant again after its Sept. 4 issue, which also mentioned that Togashi will resume the series before the end of 2017.

Other reports reveal that Togashi commented in the said issue, saying, "Because Nisshin Foods have presented me with 'Donbe' instant udon noodles as a kind of incentive prize (for when 'Hunter x Hunter' is resumed), I'll bring back the series one more time before the end of the year."

It is not known if the Donbe noodles reference is true or is a mere joke. Fans do not mind as long as the manga returns soon. Despite the hiatuses, fans still continue waiting for the next issue. Many are satisfied with the intensely entertaining story of protagonist Gon Freecss and his adventures as a hunter.

"Hunter x Hunter" has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since March 3, 1998 and has undergone many extended hiatuses since 2006.
