Indiana Pacers NBA roster news: Paul George will be at USA Basketball Minicamp

To recall, it will be remembered that Jerry Colangelo made it a requirement to have players in attendance in Las Vegas when minicamp opens for USA Basketball.

We already know so far some names who will be there but may not necessarily be joining the scrimmages. The players in mention are Kevin Durant and Kevin Love. But now it seems that another player will be around but will not be playing – Indiana Pacers star Paul George.

George apparently has not lost interest in being part of Team USA despite suffering that horrific injury exactly one year ago that saw him end up with a broken leg.

The injury sidelined George for most of the season though he did make a miraculous return before the previous regular season ended.

Though his return was not meant to boost the Pacers chances, it was more of a break-in of sorts to get George back in the groove. Though he did show shades of his old self, it was obvious that George is not yet 100% back to form.

In fact, he even got some injuries with his sudden return and it looks like he is still trying to recover from it.

All that aside, it is pretty clear that George is interested in playing for team USA in 2016, probably in the same vote as Durant, Love and maybe even Lebron James too.

Obviously George is taking it one step at a time and once he feels he is 100% healthy, it would not be surprising to see him joining in with the other aspirants once he does get back his basketball legs in check.

One has to hand it to George for coming back despite that horrible experience. But his love for the game weighs a whole lot more than worrying about that gruesome sight that gave Team USA quite a setback.
