The Colts will be looking to avoid falling to 0-2 tonight by claiming a win in their season home opener at Lucas Oil. A loss in Week 1 isn't the end of the world as there is such a long way to go in the season. However, falling to 0-2 is something every team wants to avoid as it digs a big hole that means even in the best case scenario a team must spend the first month of the season just climbing back to 0.500.

Ahead of this season most pundits had penciled the Colts to go far and continue their progress shown over recent seasons. In 2012 the Colts made the Wild Card round of the Playoffs, and in 2013 improved to the Divisional Playoffs. Last season they went all the way to the AFC Championship Game, and this year the natural progression would be to go all the way to the Super Bowl.

However, the Colts were brought back down to earth in a harsh way last week when they fell to the Buffalo Bills.

Indianapolis' offense struggled badly, despite various pundits praising their offense as one of the best in the league at the moment. They didn't even get onto the scoreboard until after the 44th minute, and were unable to cross the midfield point until just minutes prior to half time.

They know they have to improve, and today they come up against a Jets team with growing confidence after their Week 1 win over the Cleveland Browns.

The Jets are doing what they do best again this season, and are putting out an aggressive defense coupled with an offense that controls the ball and the pace of the game well, to slowly wear down their opposition.

Against the Browns, the Jets forced five turnovers, recorded three sacks, and gained 154 rush yards as they ran out strong 31-10 winners.

Colts' quarterback Andrew Luck has not played against the Jets since back in 2012, and at that time Indianapolis were demolished 35-9 in Week 6 of the season. Luck himself had a torrid time and completed just 50 percent of his throws. He will want to erase memories of that defeat with a big win today.
