"Mortal Kombat" co-creator and "Injustice 2" director Ed Boon sure knows how to hype up the games he's working on. He has been known to hold polls to ask fans for their input for games like "Mortal Kombat X," and this time it's time for some "Injustice 2" questions.

In the first poll, Boon asked fans which "Mortal Kombat" character they want to see in "Injustice 2" and Sub-Zero won by a wide margin, although it wasn't a flawless victory. The character beat out the likes of Raiden, Johnny Cage, and Jax.

In another poll, Boon asked fans which character not connected to the "Mortal Kombat" franchise should make an appearance in the game and Todd MacFarlane's Spawn won handily, beating out Hellboy, Terminator, and Buffy. That's an interesting list of characters.

While it's not written in stone, those two fan-favorite characters may make it into the game. Holding a poll is the perfect way to measure people's interest and Boon will surely do something to include the characters that thousands of fans voted for.

Besides Sub-Zero and Spawn, Boon has also been teasing the inclusion of DC characters like Doctor Fate, Black Canary, Black Adam, Starfire, and Catwoman. Perhaps the Red Hood may appear as well. He also hinted that there may be alternate character skins for the Flash and Superman.

Furthermore, Boon hinted that a demo or an open beta may come out before the finished game hits the market. He didn't exactly confirm it, but he did say "there is a chance" that it will happen. That's better than nothing.

Before fans get their hopes up, it should be noted that not everything Boon teases make it to the games he has been working on. Readers are advised to take everything with a grain of salt.

"Injustice 2" will hit the shelves sometime in 2017. The game will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
